Introducing our NEW Junior High School Boys Basketball Coach, Gary Greert! Come meet Coach Greer and learn about his vision for the future of Veritas Junior High Basketball on Tuesday, August 27, at 6:30pm upstairs at the school. All junior high boys (grades 6-8) (and their parents/guardians) interested in basketball should plan to attend! If you are unable to attend, please reach out to the Athletic Director, kdaniels@veritaschristianschool.org.
Coach Greer is a pastor at Bridge Pointe Community Church here in Lawrence. He has been married to his wife Jen for 15 years. They have three kids, Stephen, 12, Spenser, 10, and Madelyn, 4. He graduated from Bethel Christian Academy in 2000 and won a state championship in basketball his sophomore year there. Other than coaching his boys’ soccer, basketball, and baseball teams for the last few years, he has also coached a few high school basketball teams. He coached girls high school basketball for two years and coached the boys high school basketball team for two years at the school he graduated from. He also coached a high school inner city St. Louis team for two summers. He is excited to start coaching this year and hopes for a great season!
Welcome Coach Greer to Veritas Athletics!
Introducing our NEW High School Boys Basketball Coach, Jamelle Blunt!
Come meet Coach Blunt and learn about his vision for the future of Veritas Basketball on Monday, August 26, at 6:30pm upstairs at the school. All high school boys (and their parents/guardians) interested in basketball should plan to attend! (A junior high date will be announced soon.)
Coach Blunt is a native of Kansas City, Kansas. He graduated from Sumner Academy High School where he played basketball. He is a graduate of Washburn University. After college, he served as an assistant high school basketball coach for Bishop Seabury Academy in Lawrence, KS. He is now a Coach and Program Director for Livin’ The Dream Ministries. Blunt is a teacher of the game. He loves to help kids gain a better understanding of the game, so they can reach their full potential. He is married (Lauren Blunt, Veritas Grad) and has three kids, two of which attend Veritas. (The other is too young still!) Coach Blunt desires to see each athlete prosper mentally, physically, and spiritually. Coach says, “God has taught me to believe and trust more in Him than myself (Proverbs 3:5-6). I never thought I would be coaching basketball after I was done in High School. Being humble and patient as I go through my coaching journey are a couple things that motivate me to coach.”
Welcome Coach Blunt to Veritas Athletics!
Look at these fabulous people! 7th and 9th graders enjoying their orientation to secondary school at VCS.
Congratulations to the Junior High Volleyball team! They earned gold medals in the preseason tournament in Kansas City! One coach said, "Not only did they play spectacularly, everyone was cheering each other on and they were such great examples to other teams. Heart and skill came together to glorify God!" #vcsathletics #eaglevolleyball #forthewin

What a fabulous group here today for VCS New Teacher Orientation 2024/2025!
Our seniors are off on this lovely adventure-- starting with a gift of seeing the lights of the Aurora Borealis dip all the way down to Alabama and then... this message from one one of their chaperones: "I don’t have the words to describe the gift that God gave us this morning for our work project! These men have a Saturday morning men’s group. They made us breakfast, led a study and spoke to our kids from scripture about their 1 Timothy, leading a discussion with them about who their Lois and Timothy’s are and will be. They offered to take the kids crabbing and host a crab bake this week. Our kids feel like they have family here now. I’m in awe of God’s kindness."
Hilarious Senior Prank day! Looks like duck hunting season? Happy hunting underclassmen! 😂🐣🦆
Veritas Seniors wowed their audience today with the presentations of their capstone research. Well done ladies and gentlemen!!
