The school’s name, Veritas, is the Latin word meaning “truth.” We at Veritas Christian School believe God’s truths are revealed in Scripture. Thus, we combine a vigorous intellectual pursuit with the study of God’s Word to produce students who have mastered the true goal of education: “learning to learn for themselves.”
Veritas Christian School is a non-denominational school neither supported nor run by any one particular church. Through the years, Veritas has enjoyed the support of many local churches by drawing students from a wide range of denominations and congregations. Our purpose, to provide a rigorous Christian education without focusing on specific denominational beliefs, has made this community-wide support possible. As an affiliate member of the Association of Classical and Christian Schools (ACCS), Veritas benefits from the research, success, and support of many Classical Christian schools around the country. Veritas is also a member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).

Veritas is the Latin word meaning TRUTH.

Our school motto quotes Jesus Christ,Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

 – John 8:32

Veritas ranked #7 in ‘Top Area Private Schools’ among all KC schools in 22-county area in Kansas and Missouri. – Ingram’s Magazine, 2015  (Veritas was the only Lawrence school to earn a spot in the rankings)

Each year Veritas students take the Terra Nova Standardized Test. Our students’ average score is approximately 2-3 grade levels above the national average! Our 10th – 12th graders score at post high school levels (PHS). Our ACT score average for the past five years is 25.8. (national average is 21)

As an institution, we would point out that we enroll typical students from typical Christian families. Rather than attributing our outstanding test scores to students that would be high-achievers under any circumstances, we credit our classical curriculum, small class sizes, our outstanding faculty, and the active partnership of Veritas parents in the Christ-centered education of their children.

What sets us apart from other educational options for families?

We believe parents are the most important teachers for their children. Therefore, we value and encourage parent engagement as we partner to educate students.

We believe God is the foundation of all wisdom and learning. Therefore, all academics, fine arts, and athletics are taught through a Biblical worldview.

We believe in the value of fine arts, classical literary works, and proven curriculum. Therefore, we utilize the Classical Christian Education model. More than mere facts for tests, we teach students how to learn well.

We believe in the importance of serving others and live this out through daily interactions and community service projects.

If you share these beliefs, JOIN US and experience a school that partners with parents to truly foster each student’s unique, God-given abilities!
